My story
Monday 2nd FebWhen people hear the word autism, they often think they know what it means. A checklist. A stereotype. A single story.
But autism isn’t one story—it’s millions. And one of those stories belongs to my daughter, Keira.
Keira is autistic. She is funny, stubborn, creative, deeply empathetic, and sees the world in ways that constantly surprise us. She also struggles—sometimes in ways that are visible, sometimes in ways that are completely hidden. Our family is proudly neurospicy, which means our brains don’t all follow the so-called “standard operating system,” and honestly? Life would be a lot less colorful if they did.
We’re fundraising not because autism needs to be “fixed,” but because autistic people deserve support, understanding, and acceptance in a world that wasn’t built with them in mind.
