Back story

My own journey in all this started when I was working as a TA with additional needs children for 6 years which included autistic children ranging from 5-16 years old, as you can imagine it wasn’t the easiest job to do but extremely rewarding. I stopped working with children as it was too emotional for me and I constantly worried about what would happen to them later on in life. A former colleague recommended I look into Autism Initiatives as I knew I still had a lot to give to others, and as they say ‘the rest is history’ I have now been a support worker for 4 months and I am absolutely loving it!
It’s been full of challenges however I work with amazing support workers and service users/people supported. It’s heartbreaking to see individuals with autism struggle day to day but massively rewarding when you see them overcoming obstacles or achieving their personal goals.
I feel very passionate about my new career and very fortunate to be in the place I am, so if I can raise even a little bit of money for this incredible organisation than i will….thanks for reading xxx
