Taking part in Walk For Autism

Thursday 19th Feb

This year, I’m taking part in Walk for Autism, and it’s something that means a great deal to me, not just personally, but professionally too. I’ll be walking 20,000 steps a day for 8 days from 26th March to the 2nd of April.

As someone who works closely with children with autism, I see every day how incredible, unique, and capable they are. I also see the challenges they face,  not because of who they are, but because the world isn’t always built to understand them.

I see the effort it takes for some children to communicate their feelings. I see the strength it takes to manage overwhelming environments. I see the small victories that deserve huge celebrations.

Working with autistic children has taught me patience, perspective, and the importance of truly listening. It’s taught me that autism isn’t something to be “fixed” , it’s something to be understood and supported.

I’m walking to raise awareness, promote acceptance, and support families who navigate this journey every single day. I’m walking for the children I work with, for their futures, their opportunities, and a world that embraces them exactly as they are.

Every step I take represents inclusion. Every mile represents understanding.

If we can build a society that adapts and supports rather than judges and misunderstands, we can make a real difference.

Thank you to everyone supporting me — whether that’s through donations, encouragement, or simply taking the time to read this. It truly means a lot.
