Walking 10,000 Steps a Day for Autism – For My Daughter 💚

As most of you know, my daughter was diagnosed with autism in September 2024. Since then, our journey has opened my eyes even more to the importance of understanding, support, and inclusive communities for autistic people.

To help raise awareness and support, I’ll be taking part in Walk for Autism by walking 10,000 steps every day from 26th March to 2nd April. This challenge supports Autism Initiatives Group, a charity working towards a world where every autistic person has the support they need to thrive, the opportunity to reach their full potential, and a community that truly understands and includes them.

This cause is very close to my heart, and I’d be so grateful for any support. If you’re able to donate, no matter how big or small, it really will make a difference.

Thank you so much for supporting me on this journey 💚

Walking 10,000 Steps a Day for Autism💚 A Cause Close to My Heart

Saturday 14th Mar

As many of you already know, my daughter was diagnosed with autism in September 2024. Like many families, receiving a diagnosis brought a mix of emotions, but most importantly it helped us understand her world a little better. Since then, I’ve become even more aware of how important support, awareness, and acceptance are for autistic people and their families.

Going through the process with the GP and the diagnosis journey also opened my eyes to how limited the support can sometimes be for families navigating autism. There simply isn’t enough help available, and it can feel overwhelming trying to find the right guidance and resources. It really highlighted to me how important it is that we continue raising awareness and pushing for better support. We need to live in a world that is more understanding, supportive and accepting of people with autism.

Because of this, I’ve decided to take on a challenge that means a lot to me personally. From 26th March to 2nd April, I will be walking 10,000 steps every single day as part of the Walk for Autism challenge to raise money for Autism Initiatives Group.

Autism Initiatives Group works towards a world where every autistic person has the support they need to thrive, the opportunity to fulfil their potential, and a community that truly understands and includes them. Their work helps provide vital support, raise awareness, and help build more inclusive communities.

This challenge is not just about the steps it’s about showing support for autistic people everywhere, including my daughter. Every step I take during this week represents my commitment to helping create a more understanding and supportive world for her and others like her.

If you are able to support this challenge, I would be incredibly grateful. Any donation, big or small, will help make a difference and go towards supporting the amazing work Autism Initiatives does.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read this and for supporting such an important cause.
