One Step at a Time. For Autism.

Autism is incredibly close to my heart. I’m a teacher, and every day I work with autistic children and young people who inspire me in ways I can’t always put into words. I see their joy, their challenges, their determination and I see how much difference understanding, patience and the right support can make.

From 26th March to 2nd April, I’ll be taking part in Walk for Autism, a fundraising challenge run by Autism Initiatives Group. Their mission is to create a world where every autistic person has the support they need to thrive, the opportunity to reach their full potential, and a safe, inclusive community to live in.

I’ll be walking at least 10,000 steps a day, with a personal goal of reaching 100,000 steps over the 8 days. Each step I take is for the autistic individuals and families who deserve to feel seen, understood, and supported.

If you’re able to donate, please know that any amount, big or small  truly matters. Your support helps create real change.

We can’t help everyone, but everyone can help someone.

Thank you.

Can’t stop won’t stop!

Tuesday 10th Mar
Got off the train a stop few stops early… because steps don’t count themselves.

A Little Head Start! 🚶‍♀️💙

Thursday 5th Mar
Even though Walk for Autism officially starts on 26th March, I may have got a little carried away and started early on 1st March…

So far I’ve already walked 56,926 steps towards my 100,000 step goal! Don’t worry though,  I’ll still be completing the full 8-day challenge when it officially begins.

Autism is incredibly close to my heart. As a teacher, I learn from autistic young people every single day. They teach me patience, honesty, resilience and a way of seeing the world that is beautifully different.

Not every voice is always heard as easily as it should be. So I’ll walk, speak up and advocate proudly and loudly for the young people who continue to teach me so much.

If you’re able to donate or share my page, I’d be incredibly grateful. Every step (and every pound!) makes a difference.

Thank you!
