I'm walking 10,000 steps a day for Autism Initiatives

This is for my younger self, and all the other little girls who were labelled as “weird” “lacked-confidence” “to-herself” “shy” “creative” “sensitive”.
This is for my younger self, and all the other little girls that had to attend CAHMS meetings where they’d force you to cry and talk about you emotions without even knowing what you were feeling or how to regulate.
This is for my younger self and all the other little girls, that felt like aliens at school, picked on or “stuck out like a sore thumb”.
Finally, this is for myself; and all the other little girls who finally had a name for their “quirks” later on in life❤️
Please, if you can donate; although I’m passed the age now for support in school, other children are not ❤️

Why I’m doing this?

Thursday 19th Mar
I am participating in the “Walk for Autism” not only on behalf of my younger self but also for all the other young girls who were labelled as “sensitive,” “artistic,” “shy,” “lacking confidence,” or “unique.” I am walking for my younger self and for other young girls who endured those utterly exhausting CAMHS appointments, where they were asked to explain their emotions, despite feeling as though the world was about to collapse if they even considered what was happening inside their minds. I am walking for my younger self and for all the other girls who felt like aliens among their peers, constantly striving to fit in or fearing the risk of being labelled. I am walking for my younger self and for all the girls who felt compelled to go into a three-month hibernation simply for stepping outside and engaging in a ten-minute conversation. Finally, I am walking for my present self and for all the women who have, at last, been given a label for their “quirks” after years of struggle, torment, and frustration over “why can’t I be normal”.
