Here we go again…

Monday 19th Jan
Here we go again…. Back supporting this wonderful charity providing essential support for those with Autism.

I don’t share much about our story on here, those that need to know have the information, however as a bit of an insight into our life I have provided just a small fraction of our life. Please note this isn’t everything, there just wouldn’t be time to write our full story to date, however it’s so important people realise how much it takes being a SEN parent:

If it wasn’t for Emmie I wouldn’t have realised just how hard being a SEN parent is. Emmie is my light on the dark days, my happiness and my whole entire world. I sometimes think how things would be different if she was neurotypical but we can’t change her mind, what we can do is continue the battle of changing the world for her.

Emmie is preverbal- on file she is non verbal, however she is trying to exceptionally hard to verbally communicate, every day she tries so hard to communicate. She is so amazingly clever for a 4 year old, the things she does, blows my mind every single day. This girl knows how to operate technology so much better than I do, I just hope one day she’s able to tell me how to do these things.

Emmie is in a mainstream school at the moment, this may change over the years but we are fighting so hard to not let her diagnosis hold her back, we want her to flourish and continue being the amazing girl she is because she should be accepted for being a little different.

The battles of a sen parent never end, from fighting for an EHCP to fighting just to be seen by SALT. Honestly the amount of time I spend chasing referrals, battling services, arguing for the things Emmie needs, I’m surprised I have any time left in my day to also work full time, on very minimal sleep a lot of the time, and be a present mum.

Amongst all of this is the happiest, smiling, sweet little girl. My girl. My favourite human on this whole entire planet. My entire life, my biggest supporter and my biggest challenge.

So I have decided to do the challenge again this year, I work an office based role, this isn’t easy to accomplish but we will conquer it just like we did last year.

If you can spare anything as a donation I would be truly grateful from the bottom of my heart.

Anyone else wishing to complete this challenge, do it. 🩷

Thank you to my donors
