I'm walking 80,000 steps for Autism Initiatives

Walk for Autism is a fundraising challenge run by Autism Initiatives Group. Autism Initiatives Group is working towards a world where every autistic person has the support they need to thrive, every opportunity to fulfil their potential and a supportive, inclusive community to live in.

I'll be walking 80,000 steps from 26th March to 2nd April to raise money for this fantastic charity. Please sponsor me. I'm doing this for my son who has Autism and Epilepsy and my grandson who is Autistic and has PDA and is type 1 diabetic.

Any donation big or small is greatly appreciated 😊

My updates

Reduced to 50k steps due to illness

Monday 30th Mar
Sorry people had to reduce the amount of steps I'm doing due to back problems and family illness.
My muscles in my lower back went pop on Friday and I'm really struggling to get about. Also we have a bug that's hit the house and it's a respiratory bug. With me having asthma and COPD it's really aggregated my breathing but I'm gonna try to do another 18k steps at some point.

Increased Donation Goal

Monday 2nd Mar
Increased Donation Goal. Increased by a little to try get to the next level of fundraising. Please donate. When this new level of £125 is reached it won't be raised. Anything above this will be extra donation to this amazing cause.

I'm walking 80,000 steps for Autism Initiatives

Thursday 12th Feb
Mistake on my page. In some places it says 40.000 steps but I'm doing the full 80.000 steps. That's 10.000 per day for 8 days.

My Autism story

Wednesday 11th Feb
My son and my grandson both have autism. My son also has epilepsy. I want to raise better awareness and understanding about autism. Taking away the stigma for people who have it. My son was bullied throughout his school time for being different to the point we had to pull him out of high school after he got punished for shoving a girl off him who had jumped on him and was punching him in the head to try to start an epileptic seizure. He is now home educated and a lot happier although he has never understood how to communicate socially with his peers. It's just good to see him safe and happy. We don't feel like he was protected at school and was just treat like a number.
