My story

Wednesday 21st Jan

Becoming a parent to a SEN child is incredibly hard. You have to navigate their development, emotions, and communication especially when they can’t always express themselves. Being a first-time mum and a SEN parent has been both magical and challenging. I’ve been fighting for my daughter since she was 10 months old, and she’ll be turning 4 this July.

As a parent, you learn to trust your gut. Never let anyone knock you down or make you feel like any of this is your fault, because it isn’t. The world knew you were strong enough for this challenge, and that your child would be safe and happy with you.

You realise that you never stop fighting for the support your child needs. Your life changes in so many ways, and you grow through every experience as you learn to understand and meet their needs.
