My updates

In honour of my daughter with autism and in think doing 10000 steps a day would be great achievement for me as ive come along way in the last 12 months

Tuesday 24th Mar
Im doing this walk for my daughter with autism and hopefully to help support other people with autism. I also feel it would be great achievement for my self as 12 months ago I wasnt very active at all.

My daughter is diagnosed with autism and learning difficulties.  She is such a happy child although we still have very difficult days.  From a young age we've had a lot of professionals support form having a great health visitor to the teachers and head teacher at my daughter nursery who helped identify and get a diagnosis early on along with a education health care plan and got her into one of the best specialist schools in the North east if not the country.

We've also have help from other professionals to get specialist equipment in place for our child.

Not everyone is lucky like we have been and dont receive as much support, as there just isn't enough money to go around for everyone.  Im not saying we deserve it more than another else as their are child worse off than us, we are so lucky.

Hopefully doing this will help a little to support other family's in the same situation.

Also it will be a achievement for me about a yr ago I was pushing 17 stone and not very active at all.  If soneone mention walking anywhere, all I could think of is the effort I would have to put in and the possible pain I would be in.

In roughly the last year ive lost around 3 stone. Im more active but ive only really started pushing myself to try and 10000 steps a day in the last few weeks when I started considering doing this walk for charity.  As I used to always be in pain walking and hated walking anywhere.  So for me do 10000 steps a day for 8 days will be personal achievement and will be raising money for a good cause.
