Walk for Autism is a fundraising challenge run by Autism Initiatives Group. Autism Initiatives Group is working towards a world where every autistic person has the support they need to thrive, every opportunity to fulfil their potential and a supportive, inclusive community to live in.

Autism is something close to my heart. Back in 2024 my daughter Macie-mae finally got her ASD diagnosis after a 5 year long battle. But nothing has changed for us. She is still a bright, bold and beautiful girl. Yes she may struggle from time to time with certain areas of life but that doesn’t stop her from achieving her goals. ASD is something that will never go away and not everyone will understand it. 

• Approximately 1% to 2% of the UK population is estimated to be on the autism spectrum, with around 700,000 to over 1.2 million people in the UK identifying as autistic.

I’m autistic myself, so I know all too well the difficulties that come with getting diagnosed, getting support for the things we struggle with and just simply existing in an overwhelming world that often doesn’t understand autistic people. Hopefully with the increasing awareness and wonderful people like you fundraising, your little girl and the next generation of autistic children can grow up feeling a lot more happy, supported and understood than I ever did growing up. ❤️❤️
