Taking steps for my son ā¤ļø

Wednesday 4th Feb
My son is almost 4 years old. He’s non-verbal, full of his own beautiful ways of communicating, and is suspected autistic. Our journey hasn’t come with a neat label or clear roadmap, but what it has come with is love, resilience, and a whole new way of seeing the world.
Every day, my son teaches me patience. He teaches me that communication doesn’t always come in words, that joy can be shown through flaps, smiles, and moments that might look small to others but feel huge to us. He also teaches me how tough this journey can be, the waiting, the worrying, the not knowing what the future holds.
I’m walking for him.
I’m walking for awareness.
I’m walking for every family who feels unseen, unheard, or misunderstood.
Autism doesn’t look one way, and neither does parenting an autistic child. There are hard days and magical days, sometimes all wrapped into one. By taking part in this walk, I’m hoping to help shine a light on non-verbal autism, to support acceptance, and to remind others that our children are not defined by what they can’t do, but by who they are.
This walk is more than steps.
It’s love in motion.
It’s hope.
It’s standing up for my son and a community that deserves understanding, support, and kindness.
Thank you to everyone who supports us, cheers us on, and walks alongside us in every sense of the word.
