I'm walking 10,000 steps a day for Autism Initiatives💚

Walk for Autism is a fundraising challenge run by Autism Initiatives Group. Autism Initiatives Group is working towards a world where every autistic person has the support they need to thrive, every opportunity to fulfil their potential and a supportive, inclusive community to live in. 💚

I'll be walking 10,000 steps a day from 26th March to 2nd April to raise money for this fantastic charity. Please sponsor me! This is a brilliant cause and I know just how important it is to get this kind of support!🧩

In my previous role as a Learning Support Assistant at a mainstream secondary school, I have seen that it is essential that people with autism have access to the correct support. The support is a complete game changer and can really shape someone’s life for the better!☺️

As someone who has relatives with autism, previously supported autistic people with their education, and awaiting an autism assessment myself - this is something that I am incredibly passionate about! Let’s get people the support they’re entitled to!🙌✨

Any donation big or small is greatly appreciated 🌸

Thank you so so so much! I’m forever grateful for you🫶✨

Walk for Autism Day 8🧩💚

Thursday 2nd Apr
Hey Siri - Play "One Last Time" by the Cast of Hamilton on Spotify🥹

It is Day 8!!!! The last day of this incredible challenge!💚

My final daily step count: 11,820

Celebration, happiness, passion and determination went into every single step of the day! I am so proud of myself for being able to completely smash this challenge!! 🤭

Today's steps were completed both at work and walking around the outside of the Tower of London... in 20 minutes... I don't even know how🤣

Drum roll for the final total steps!!!!

🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁

OH MY GOODNESS!!!

These little legs did all of those steps!! 😱

I would once again like to thank each and every one of you who have supported me through this challenge. Be that through donations, messages, check ins during work, comments, and sharing my fundraising page! Without you all, I would not have been able to raise so much money for such an amazing cause - you all deserve a round of applause 👏👏👏👏

I also want to give all of my colleagues across the railway a massive shoutout! You guys have been amazing! From helping arrange potential walk alongs, sharing my fundraising page and story for all staff to see, to cheering me on while I walk up and down the station and platform to get these steps in!!! I have truly felt so welcomed and accepted by everyone all over the company, from HQ to the mainline & frontline! Thank you all so so so much🩷

This challenge has not been easy, battling freezing temperatures, an awful cold and my lovely painful joints that reminded me they exist!! HOWEVER - I would not have changed this at all! Completing this challenge has shown me that I really can stick to anything I put my mind to, no matter the setbacks I may face!🙌

Raising awareness and support for autism really is something I am incredibly passionate about. I know first hand just how difficult it is to go about your day to day life, at any age, without support as a neurodivergent person. This cause is going to change so many lives and I am so grateful to be a part of positive change!🧩

Well then... with that, I am signing off from the daily steps updates! I'll post on my socials if I add any further updates to my fundraising page! 🫶

⚠️Reminder⚠️ The last day to donate is April 30th at Midday!

Keep being amazing💕

Ok, love you, bye x✨
