Why I'm Walking for Autism This March

In March, I’ll be taking part in Walk for Autism, a fantastic fundraising challenge run by Autism Initiatives Group. This charity is dedicated to creating a world where every autistic person has the understanding, support, and opportunities they need to thrive. Their work helps build more inclusive communities and ensures that individuals and families receive the help they deserve.

For me, this cause is incredibly close to my heart.

My son, Arthur, is 5 years old and received his autism diagnosis in November 2025. Arthur is bright, funny, and wonderfully unique. He also faces daily challenges with communication, learning, and making friends. As a family, we’re learning alongside him — celebrating every small win and navigating the tougher days together.

Taking part in Walk for Autism is my way of honouring Arthur and supporting a charity that helps children like him feel understood, included, and empowered.

From 26th March to 2nd April, I’ll be walking 10,000 steps every day to raise money for Autism Initiatives Group. Every pound raised helps fund vital services, support networks, and resources for autistic people and their families.

If you’re able to sponsor me, I would be incredibly grateful.

Any donation — big or small — makes a real difference. 💙

Thank you so much for your support. 😊

I have a 7 year old boy with Autism so I understand the challenges you face as a carer, but the kids are also amazing people to know once they let you into their world. Good luck with your steps Sarah.
