I'm walking 10,000 steps a day for Autism Initiatives

I am participating in "Walk for Autism," a fundraising challenge hosted by the Autism Initiatives Group. This organization works to ensure that every autistic person has the support they need to thrive within an inclusive community.

From March 26th to April 2nd, I will be walking a minimum of 10,000 steps a day to raise money for this important charity. Although the minimum is 10,000 steps in 8 days, my personal target is to reach 100,000 steps in the same period and I have set a goal to raise £500 for this great cause.

This cause is very personal to me. In 2025, after a five-year wait, our eldest son, Alfie, was diagnosed with autism. Over the past year, we have dedicated ourselves to learning how to best support him as he navigates daily challenges. While he enjoys his passions for Disney Cars, planes, and buses, he often struggles to focus on simpler tasks. My wife and I spend a significant amount of time helping Alfie regulate his emotions and understand his struggles, which can be a difficult and demanding process for our family.

Many families live with autism, and because it affects everyone differently, charities like this are vital in helping individuals and their families navigate these unique challenges.
