Why Iām Taking Part in the Walk for Autism
Tuesday 24th MarIf you know me, youāll know this isnāt just a āchallengeā for me⦠this is personal.
Iām a mum to neurodivergent children, and that journey has completely changed who I am, how I see the world, and what I fight for every single day.
There have been moments of complete overwhelm, moments where Iāve felt like Iām not being heard, and times where Iāve had to figure everything out on my own. Parenting neurodivergent children is beautiful, but it can also be incredibly tough, especially when the right support isnāt always there.
Thatās a huge part of why I created Diverse Minds Community.
A space where parents like me can come together, feel understood, share experiences, and not feel so alone in it all.
Because no parent should feel like theyāre navigating this on their own.
But I also know that support services matter. Early help, the right therapies, and people who truly understand neurodiversity can make such a difference to a childās life, and to the whole family.
Thatās why Iām taking part in the Walk for Autism.
From the 26th of March to the 2nd of April, Iāll be walking 10,000 steps a day. Not just for the challenge, but to raise awareness and a little bit of money for autism initiatives in the UK, so more families can access the support they need.
If youāre able to sponsor me, even a small amount, it would mean so much. And if not, sharing or supporting in any way is just as appreciated.
Thank you for being part of this with me ššš©µš
