Walking for Autism!

Between 26th March and 2nd April, I’m setting myself a challenge: 100,000 steps in one week.

Not for fitness. Not for fun.

But for awareness, understanding, and love — for my daughter.

My daughter is autistic, and autism is part of our everyday life. It shapes how she sees the world, how she communicates, how she experiences joy, overwhelm, curiosity, and connection. Autism isn’t something that needs to be “fixed,” but it does need to be understood, supported, and accepted.

Too often, autism is misunderstood. People see the labels before they see the child. They miss the strength it takes to navigate a world that isn’t designed with neurodiversity in mind. They don’t always see the patience, resilience, and fierce love that exists behind the scenes in autistic families.

That’s why I’m walking.

Each step I take during this week represents:

  • A step toward greater awareness
  • A step toward acceptance and inclusion
  • A step toward a world where autistic children are supported for who they are, not pressured to be who they’re not

This challenge falls around World Autism Awareness Day (2nd April), a time to listen to autistic voices, to learn, and to stand beside families like ours.

How You Can Help

If you’re able to, I’m asking you to please make a donation.

Every contribution — big or small — helps raise awareness and supports autism-related causes that make a real difference in children’s lives and their futures.

If donating isn’t possible right now, sharing this post, starting a conversation, or simply choosing kindness and understanding all matter more than you might think.

Thank you for taking the time to read this.

Thank you for supporting my daughter.

And thank you for helping make the world a little more understanding — one step at a time.
