Walking 10,000 Steps a Day for Autism – For My Daughter Freya

Between 26th March and 2nd April, I’ll be taking on a personal challenge: walking 10,000 steps every single day to raise funds and awareness for autism.

But this isn’t just a fitness challenge for me.

I’m doing it for someone very special — my daughter, Freya, who is nearly four years old.

Why This Means So Much to Me

Freya is an amazing little girl who sees the world in her own unique and wonderful way. Like many children with autism, her journey comes with both incredible strengths and some challenges that not everyone understands.

Autism affects how people communicate, experience the world, and interact with others. For families like ours, every day can bring moments of joy, learning, patience, and determination.

Freya teaches me something new every day — about love, resilience, and seeing the world differently.

This walk is my small way of standing up for her and for other autistic children and families.

Why I’m Walking 10,000 Steps a Day

From March 26th to April 2nd, I will walk at least 10,000 steps every day.

That might not sound like a huge challenge to some people, but the real purpose is about raising awareness and starting conversations about autism.

Every step I take is:

  • A step for understanding

  • A step for acceptance

  • A step for supporting autistic children and their families

And most importantly, every step is for Freya.

Raising Awareness Matters

Autism is something that many people have heard about, but not everyone truly understands.

Greater awareness can help create:

  • More inclusive communities

  • Better support for families

  • Earlier diagnosis and intervention

  • Greater acceptance for autistic individuals

Children like Freya deserve a world where they are understood, supported, and celebrated for who they are.

How You Can Help

If you’re able to, I would be incredibly grateful for any support.

Even the smallest action can make a difference.

Walking for Freya 💙

Freya may only be nearly four years old, but she is already one of the strongest people I know. She inspires me every single day.

This walk is for her.

It’s for every autistic child.

And it’s for every family navigating this journey.

So from 26th March to 2nd April, I’ll be putting on my shoes and getting my steps in — one step at a time — hoping to make a small difference.

Thank you for supporting me and freya💙
