Walk for Autism is a fundraising challenge run by Autism Initiatives Group. Autism Initiatives Group is working towards a world where every autistic person has the support they need to thrive, every opportunity to fulfil their potential and a supportive, inclusive community to live in.

As some of you know, a number of my family members have been diagnosed with autism, and I myself am waiting on a diagnosis. This sort of stuff will always be close to my heart

A bit about me

Hiya everyone!

Those of you who don’t know me, my name is Mia-Billie Nelson! I am 21 years old, my birthday is the 5th of July 2004.

A number of my family members have been diagnosed with Autism, Asperger’s, ADHD, OCD and so on and so forth. 

This means a lot to me, as someone who has been waiting for some sort of diagnosis since I was 15. The system has failed me in many ways, I have been through a lot growing up, and this is something that I feel that having some clarity on why I behave the way I do and act the way I do would significantly help me. 

I am an advocate for those of us that feel misheard and misunderstood when it comes to conveying our feelings, so I am proud to be apart of something that I think so highly of!
