Walk for Autism is a fundraising challenge run by Autism Initiatives Group. Autism Initiatives Group is working towards a world where every autistic person has the support they need to thrive, every opportunity to fulfil their potential and a supportive, inclusive community to live in.

sometimes you’re not given the child you expected.

they teach you how to slow down.
how to notice the small wins.
how to celebrate things other people don’t even see.
they teach you that love isn’t about fixing.
it’s about meeting someone exactly where they are
and staying there with them.
your love doesn’t change when you learn their diagnosis.
it deepens.
it gets more intentional.
more protective.
more fierce.
because loving them means learning their language.
their rhythms.
their version of the world.
and you will spend your life
loving them in the ways they need most.
not the ways that look good to other people.
they aren’t behind.
they aren’t broken.
they aren’t a burden.
they are exactly who they’re meant to be.
and you are exactly the parent they were meant to have.♥️
