Walk for Autism
Tuesday 3rd FebThis year, I’m taking part in the Walk for Autism challenge alongside a friend of mine, and this walk means far more to us than simply putting one foot in front of the other - someone close to us has autism. Watching their family’s journey has opened my eyes to the everyday realities of autism: the strength it takes, the patience it demands, and the fierce love that drives parents to advocate endlessly for their children in a world that isn’t always built with them in mind.
Autism isn’t something that needs “fixing”, it’s a different way of experiencing the world. But autistic children and their families often face challenges that most of us never have to think about: accessing support, navigating education, managing sensory overload, and constantly having to explain or defend behaviours that others may not understand. We’re walking to raise awareness. We’re walking to raise funds that help provide support, resources, and understanding.
Every donation, no matter the size, helps fund vital services and research, and helps create a more inclusive, compassionate world for autistic people - one where differences are respected and celebrated, not judged.
If you’re able to donate, share, or simply cheer us on, it truly means the world. Your support isn’t just helping us complete a walk, it’s helping families feel seen, supported, and understood.
Thank you for taking the time to read this, and thank you for supporting this cause
