I'm walking 10,000 steps a day for Autism Initiatives

Walk for Autism is a fundraising challenge run by Autism Initiatives Group. Autism Initiatives Group is working towards a world where every autistic person has the support they need to thrive, every opportunity to fulfil their potential and a supportive, inclusive community to live in.

I'll be walking 10,000 steps a day to raise money for this fantastic charity and to show my support to my family.

Any donation big or small is greatly appreciated 😊

My updates

Day 3

Tuesday 24th Mar
3 days in and a lot happened. First day back at work during the challenge, and I did the 10000 steps during the day. However, a cheeky trip to Adel nature reserve happened with the youngest who requested daddy, son bonding, who am I to refuse that. I've made the wall of fame with walk for autism and I'm only £30 away from my fundraising target, I'm thankful for all the support from friends and colleagues.

Into the fog of war

Saturday 21st Mar
Day 1, done! Went for a walk this morning, 5000 steps before 8. The remaining steps were completed in IKEA and at the Arium with the youngest. Feeling good, onto day two.

I'm going on an adventure

Friday 20th Mar
My first experience with autism, or conscious one at least, was with my youngest son who was diagnosed at two. I am very aware of how ignorant of the idea I was in the beginning. However, 7 years later and with some knowledge and experience, I couldn't be prouder of my family. My youngest shows strength and resilience everyday with his many diagnosis, my partner is AuDHD and the heart of the family ensuring the boys have all the support they need. My eldest shows neuro traits and strives to support and guide his younger brother through the struggles that he too faced. My goal is to raise funds in support of this amazing charity and show my support to my family and all others who fight for understanding and acceptance.
