Walking for Autism: A Journey Close to My Heart
From 26th March to 2nd April, I’ll be walking 10,000 steps every single day for 8 days as part of the Walk for Autism challenge supporting the National Autistic Society.
The reason I’m doing this is very close to my heart. My daughter is currently waiting for an autism assessment, and like so many families going through this journey, it can sometimes feel uncertain and emotional while you’re trying to understand your child and make sure they get the support they deserve.
Autistic children see the world differently, and they deserve patience, understanding and the right support to help them thrive. Organisations like the National Autistic Society provide vital help for families who are navigating this path.
So for 8 days I’ll be getting my steps in — rain or shine — to raise awareness and funds for autistic people and their families.
If you’re able to support me by donating to my fundraising page, no matter how big or small, it would mean a lot to me and my family. And if you can’t donate, sharing this post would also help massively.
Thank you for reading and supporting this cause 💙
Every step I take is for my daughter and others just like her.

Watching you take on this Autism Awareness Walk fills my heart with so much pride. 💙 You have chosen to stand up and raise awareness for, and that means more than words can ever explain. You know first-hand how important understanding, support, and patience are — especially with our beautiful granddaughter who faces her own challenges every day. Seeing you turn love into action and walk to help other families like ours is something truly special. There are so many parents and grandparents out there going through the same journey, and the money you raise will help bring awareness, support, and hope to them. Your goal of £500 isn’t just a number. It represents real help for real families who sometimes feel alone, overwhelmed, or misunderstood. I want you to know how incredibly proud I am of you. Your kindness, strength, and determination show what an amazing person you are. Our granddaughter is so lucky to have you fighting for awareness and understanding in her corner. No matter what the final amount is, you’ve already made a difference just by doing this. And I’ll be cheering you on every single step of the way. Love you always. 💙 Mum
