My updates

Hello

Tuesday 3rd Mar
I’m taking part in a fundraising walk challenge in support of autism, a cause that is incredibly close to my heart and my family. Autism, also known as Autism spectrum disorder, is a neurodevelopmental condition that affects how a person communicates, experiences the world, and interacts with others. It’s called a “spectrum” because it presents differently in every individual - each person has their own unique strengths, challenges, and way of seeing the world. For my family, autism isn’t just a statistic or a label; it’s part of daily life, shaping experiences with resilience, patience, and unconditional love.
My wonderful cousin Tommy is autistic and we have learnt to understand his needs and to be more versatile in our approach to supporting him in his development as a young boy. My Auntie and Uncle have witnessed some very rude  and ignorant behaviour towards themselves and Tommy in restaurants, parks and supermarkets , at times very distressing and consistently frustrating so the more we can raise awareness of autism the better .By taking on this walk challenge, I hope to raise awareness, promote understanding and acceptance, and contribute funds that support vital services, research, and resources for individuals and families navigating life with autism.
