I'm walking 10,000 steps a day for Autism Initiatives

Walk for Autism is a fundraising challenge run by Autism Initiatives Group. Autism Initiatives Group is working towards a world where every autistic person has the support they need to thrive, every opportunity to fulfil their potential and a supportive, inclusive community to live in.

I'll be walking 10,000 steps a day from 26th March to 2nd April to raise money for this fantastic charity. I would love for anyone and everyone who wish to join me to share their own jounrey, keep me motivated and so I can share some beautiful memories of my favourite person, my son Jude.

Any donation big or small is greatly appreciated 😊 Any outfit recommendations also welcome so I can ensure the fun is kept and the word is spread!

🧡 Our beautiful story 🧡

Friday 6th Feb
The reason I decided to start fundraising is because of my son and all the families that sadly share the same story as we do. All desperately fighting for the right, deserved support. We ensure endless advocating, judging, daily battles of supporting a newurodiverse child, the broken systems, the long diagnosis process, the non inclusive school system, the endless amount of meetings, the breakdown in relationships, friendships, the isolation, the guilt, the exhaustion and the many nights left crying alone, feeling so utterly helpless. This is not just a movement, it's children's lives that are affected, detrimented and mental health that is being destroyed. Families are broken, our voices left unheard and our children left unsupported. So far we are in our four year journey of fiercely standing up for our son and saying this simply isn't good enough and you will not make us desiring to be heard to then be made to feel like this is a problem anymore. What my fundraising is for

~ Funding for research
~ Funding for specialised services
~ Review of the diagnosis process
~ Review of the EHCP process
~ Review of local authorities SEN policies
~ Mandatory training for all school staff
~ Support for Neuro diverse families
~ easily accessible tools and resources

My son is called Jude and his voice will be heard 🧡 I am proud of the community we have joined and all of us will be heard ❤️
