Walk for Autism is a fundraising challenge run by Autism Initiatives Group. Autism Initiatives Group is working towards a world where every autistic person has the support they need to thrive, every opportunity to fulfil their potential and a supportive, inclusive community to live in.

This is going to be a challenge!

Wednesday 11th Feb
For those that know me, you'll know walking 10,000 steps a day is going to be extremely difficult due to various health reasons BUT this is something I am passionate about and I am committed to completing this goal. This charity is very close to my heart and I am determined to achieve it! We have a young son who, thanks to multiple professionals spotting the signs early, has recieved the relevant support he needs both within the home and educational setting. Without the support of these professionals and the support of Autism services that have helped us understand his diagnosis, we honestly feel our son would not be progressing to the degree he is. We now have the skills to support him both emotionally and physically as well as have a deeper understanding as to certain behaviours he displays and how to manage them.
