I'm walking 20,000 steps a day for Autism Initiative
I’m taking part in Walk for Autism to raise money and awareness for an incredible cause that is very close to my heart.
For 8 days, I’ll be walking 20,000 steps a day — double the usual challenge of 10,000 steps — to really push myself and show my support.
I work in a SEN school, where I see every day the challenges that many young people with autism and additional needs face. Watching the determination, strength and individuality of the learners I work with inspires me constantly, and it’s one of the reasons I wanted to take part in this challenge.
This cause is also personal for me. My sister, who is 23, has autism, ADHD and OCD, and growing up alongside her has shown me both the struggles and the incredible resilience that people with neurodiverse conditions experience. She has shaped my understanding, compassion and passion for supporting others.
I’m doing this walk for my sister, my learners, and the many individuals and families who navigate autism every single day. Any support or donation will help raise awareness and contribute towards better support, understanding and resources for people with autism.
Thank you so much for supporting me on this journey.
