Why I’m walking 10,000 Steps a Day for Autism ❤️

Wednesday 11th Feb

I'm taking part in the 10,000 steps a day walk for autism because this cause is very close to my heart.I want to help people with autism get the support, understanding, and acceptance they truly deserve. No one should feel pushed aside or misunderstood simply because they experience the world differently.

Autism means a lot to me personally because I know a small individual who has it. I see how amazing, unique, and special they are but I also see how people sometimes frown, judge, or exclude him simply because they don't understand. Watching someone be pushed out or misunderstood hurts more than I can explain. It's painful to see the lack of awareness and patience from others. Sometimes all someone needs is a little understanding, a little kindness, and a willingness to learn.

Seeing this also reminds me of how I was treated when I was younger feeling misunderstood, feeling different, and sometimes feeling like I didn't quite fit in. No one should have to grow up feeling that way.

That's why I'm doing this walk.Every 10,000 steps is a step towards raising awareness. A step towards better support. A step towards inclusion. A step towards making sure individuals with autism are not just accepted, but valued. If this challenge helps even one person stop and think, learn, or show more kindness, then every step will be worth it ❤️
