Walking for Autism: One Step at a Time 💙
Sunday 25th JanThis year, I’m taking part in Walking for Autism to raise £100 for autism awareness, and I’m doing it for someone very close to my heart: my son, Toby.
Toby is six years old, neurodivergent, and an absolute, graciously fun, lively and happy little human. He’s curious, joyful, full of personality, and sees the world in his own beautifully unique way. Recently, he’s started at an SEN school, which has been a huge milestone for our family after a 3 year battle, one filled with hope, relief, and also a lot of reflection.
While we are incredibly grateful for the support Toby is beginning to receive, the journey here hasn’t been easy. Navigating diagnoses, education, services, and everyday life as a parent of a neurodivergent child can feel overwhelming. Too often, mums and children don’t get the support they need, when they need it most.
That’s why I’m walking.
I’m walking to raise awareness.
I’m walking to help fund better understanding, resources, and support.
And I’m walking for families like ours — families who are doing their best every single day.
My goal is to raise £100.00
Whether you’re able to donate, share this post, or simply take a moment to learn more about autism, your support means more than I can say.
Thank you for helping me walk for Toby — and for all the amazing autistic children who deserve to be seen, supported, and celebrated for exactly who they are 💙
