Luke’s Story ā¤ļø

Wednesday 21st Jan
Hello and thank you for being hereā¤ļø

My name is Leah Benbow and that special person as my profile picture is my twin brother Luke. He was diagnosed with non-verbal autism when he was 3 years old and has been supported by me and my mum ever since.

Luke being my twin was born first! He was born at 9:50 and I came along 6 minutes later at 9:56. Since that moment he has been my biggest supporter/ inspiration and is my main source of motivation in life, he is my number one priority. He is now 23 and a grown man for sure, definitely stubborn and knows what he likes, could call him the BOSSšŸ˜‚ but he is truly the most humble soul you will ever meet, his light smile brightens up any room and his cheeky infectious energy is contagious, which is what makes him so specialšŸ¤

He loves to draw, listen to music and dance with his mum or sister (im sure if he could talk he would be telling us how cringe we arešŸ˜‚) and loves his lava lamp and sensory lights, and loves steal my chocolates from my stash from time to timešŸ™ƒHe also loves to be outdoors in his environment and takes joy in the little things like going to the cafe with me and my boyfriend, going on walks and drives in the car and bowling and just being around people in general. No matter the case, he always has this funny energy and nature that you can’t get enough of when you get to know himā˜ŗļøĀ

Sadly Luke having these needs, mean's that he requires daily support and reassurance in anything he does and needs regular and on going assistantship with daily routines and activities. But that doesn’t stop him from having such a bubbly and cheeky personality.Ā

So he is my inspiration and I know he isn’t the only one out there. Being seen and heard promotes a positive outcome for people like Luke and that’s why making a difference and speaking for the voiceless is so important to me. Raising money for a great charity and a cause I support and can personally connect with is truly magical, I hope I can make a difference even if it’s only a small percentageā¤ļø Ā Any small donations are kindly welcome and appreciatedā˜ŗļø

Thank you to my donors
