I'm walking 10,000 steps a day for Autism Initiatives

Walk for Autism is a fundraising challenge run by Autism Initiatives Group. Autism Initiatives Group is working towards a world where every autistic person has the support they need to thrive, every opportunity to fulfil their potential and a supportive, inclusive community to live in.

I'll be walking 10,000 steps a day from 26th March to 2nd April to raise money for this fantastic charity. Please sponsor me.

Thursday 2nd Apr
I didnt think I would, or could, but I did it... thanks to my friend Vicki who joined the challenge and kept me going. I'm immensely grateful! 

And that's a wrap! I wholloped my target, did my steps, felt good about myself, enjoyed the company of a good friend and felt a little less powerless in my ongoing fight for fairness and inclusion for my autistic sons! 

Sad times...

Saturday 28th Mar
Last night, my beloved turtle died. I took her to the vet to be cremated and sat in the car crying my eyes out for a while. When I got home, I had family over... I'd managed 5000 steps up to this point so figured that was me done but somehow, by bed time, I'd wracked up 3000 more which I was really surprised by. Hopefully today I can make up for lost steps...

Wednesday 25th Mar
Can't find my sodding smart watch! Cracking start... not sure how to record my steps. Also got landed with a training day at work so will be chained to a desk... ughhh... still, determined to succeed. Not just for me, but for my boys!

My daughter has been diagnosed with autism, I am currently having a difficult time with trying to get in contact with CAMHS, she has not been seen since 2024 despite my many calls to them, so my heart goes out to you, it is not easy xx
