I'm walking 10,000 steps a day for Autism Initiatives

Walk for Autism is a fundraising challenge run by Autism Initiatives Group. Autism Initiatives Group is working towards a world where every autistic person has the support they need to thrive, every opportunity to fulfil their potential and a supportive, inclusive community to live in.

I live in Burton Upon Trent, Staffordshire and there isn’t much in our area that is suitable for our son Oscar who I am doing this for. He has autism and is currently non verbal. Every day is a challenge as he is at home with me 24/7 and currently not in an educational setting. He loves going out and doing outdoor activities but sometimes he is at home due to finances. He is still such a beautiful boy but can easily get upset cause he doesn’t understand and we don’t know what he wants. It’s affected our mental health so much and it’s not just us. So many other parents are in the same situation and it needs to stop and needs to be dealt with.

I'll be walking 10,000 steps a day from 26th March to 2nd April to raise money for this fantastic charity. It will either be as one or in bits during the day but please sponsor me and share this to all your friends to help this incredible charity.

Any donation big or small is greatly appreciated and if anyone wants to know about our story, don’t be afraid to ask and to anyone that sees my t shirt and questions it, don’t. Just approach me and I’ll happily tell you about it. Don’t judge me and brand me a bad mum with a naughty child.
