I'm walking 10,000 steps a day for Autism Initiatives

Walk for Autism is a fundraising challenge run by Autism Initiatives Group. Autism Initiatives Group is working towards a world where every autistic person has the support they need to thrive, every opportunity to fulfil their potential and a supportive, inclusive community to live in.
I’m also doing this for my family members with autism and also for the kind of support I do for work. I want everyone one to have what they need to thrive in life and have the best quality of life they can despite their disabilities. This is going to be a big huge and very hard challenge for me but I am determined to try my very hardest for the people I love and for all the other people with this disability.

I'll be walking 10,000 steps a day from 26th March to 2nd April to raise money for this fantastic charity. Please sponsor me if you can anything will help.
Thankyou🥰

My Story

Saturday 14th Feb
My name is Jenna and I have decided this year to do the walk for autism. This is my story but not only mine. I have a little brother and a cousin who has autism, these too boys are the reason I currently do the work I’m doing. They are both their own person and even though they both have autism they are very different and have different abilities to one another. My brother has very limited things he likes to eat where as my cousin likes most foods. Also my cousin enjoys to play with others and be outside where as my brother enjoys his own company and enjoys the company of others whilst he’s playing. These two boys made me want to learn more about autism to learn more about all the different aspects of it that there is. I wanted to learn how to communicate with people who have different ways and I also wanted to help and support people and give them the best chances with life they can get. I currently work for with adults with autism and learning disabilities and this job is by far the most rewarding job I have ever done, it can be challenging at times but the sun is always out in the end. I’m doing this walk for some personal reasons too but to also try and make a difference for people with this disability.
