I’m walking 80,000 steps for Autism 💚
Monday 2nd FebFrom the 26th March to 2nd April, I will be walking 10,000 steps a day to raise money for a fantastic charity.
Taking part in this Walk for Autism means so much to us. It’s not just about the steps we take, but about raising awareness, understanding, and support for autistic children and their families. Autism is a lifelong journey, and with the right support, acceptance, and inclusion, our children can thrive.
Many of you may not know, our Son Nirvair has autism and is non-verbal. Every day, he shows me strength, resilience, and a unique way of experiencing the world that inspires me more than words can express.
Before autism became part of our everyday lives, I’ll be honest, I didn’t fully understand it. I don’t think most people do until it touches their lives directly. Autism isn’t something you can sum up in a sentence or notice from outside. It’s complex, unique and different for every child.
Nirvair sees the world in his own way. He feels things deeply, processes things differently and communicates in ways that don’t always fit neatly into what society expects. There are days full of joy, laughter, and pride, and there are days that are really hard. Days of frustration overwhelm, worry about the future, and fighting battles most people never see.
As a parent, you want to protect your child from everything. But the truth is, the world isn’t always built with autistic children in mind. Simple things like school environments, social situations, noise, changes in routine, it can be overwhelming. And that’s where support, understanding, and awareness make all the difference.
This charity is incredibly close to our hearts. It supports autistic children and their families, families like ours. Every step I take on this walk is for my Son, his future, his happiness and his right to be understood. It’s for every autistic child who deserves to be celebrated for who they are.
This walk may only last 8 days, but the cause lasts a lifetime. Autism is part of our journey, our family, and our hearts and that’s why this means so much to us.
Any donation big or small is greatly appreciated 😊
