Reasons to why I’m doing this

Friday 30th Jan
This year I’m taking part in Walk for Autism, committing to walking 10,000 steps every day, and I’m doing it for a very special reason, my niece Amelia.

Amelia is autistic, and she is an incredible little girl. Being her uncle has given me a window into a world many people never see. From the outside, people may not always notice the challenges she faces, or the strength it takes for her to move through a world that is not always built with her in mind. But as her family, we see her resilience, her determination, and the small moments that mean everything.

I’m walking to show my support for Amelia and for my family, and to help raise awareness and understanding of autism. I want to help support the charities and services that make such a difference to autistic people and their families, and to be part of creating a more inclusive and understanding world.

Every step I take is for Amelia, and for all autistic children and adults. It is a small thing I can do to show my love, my pride, and my commitment to standing alongside her and others like her.

These 10,000 steps are for my niece, for her future, and for a world where she is accepted, understood, and valued exactly as she is. 🩷
