One Step at a Time: Why I’m Walking to Support Autism
Monday 2nd MarI’m walking to support autism because awareness leads to understanding, and understanding leads to acceptance.
I work at the David Lewis Centre, where I support individuals with autism every day. Through my role, I see their strengths, resilience, and unique ways of experiencing the world. I also see the challenges they and their families face — and how important patience, inclusion, and compassion truly are.
Autism is a spectrum, and every person’s journey is different. By walking, I hope to spark conversations, challenge stereotypes, and help create a future where neurodiversity is understood and celebrated.
It may seem like a small step, but small steps create big change — and that’s why I’m walking.

Good luck Ellie 😘
