I'm walking 10,000 steps a day for Autism Initiatives

Walk for Autism is a fundraising challenge run by Autism Initiatives Group. Autism Initiatives Group is working towards a world where every autistic person has the support they need to thrive, every opportunity to fulfil their potential, and a supportive, inclusive community to live in.

This cause is very close to my heart as my 6-year-old daughter has autism. As a family we’ve experienced the challenges of trying to get the right support, and I know how important organisations like this are for families who need guidance, understanding and help.

To support this amazing charity, I’ll be walking 10,000 steps every day from 26th March to 2nd April. My daughter will even be joining me on some of the walks, which makes this challenge even more special for us.

I’m hoping to raise money to help Autism Initiatives continue supporting autistic people and their families who may be going through similar experiences.

If you’re able to sponsor me, any donation—big or small—would be hugely appreciated. Thank you so much for your support! 😊

Walking Side by Side for Autism

Thursday 12th Mar

I’ve decided to take on a special challenge — walking 10,000 steps every day to raise money and awareness for autism.

This journey is even more meaningful because I’ll be doing it with my daughter, who has autism and a rare chromosome condition called 1q21.1. She absolutely loves being outside and is happiest exploring the world around her. She’s very outdoorsy and enjoys being out in nature whatever the weather — rain, wind, or even snow won’t stop us!

Together we’ll be visiting parks, exploring nature trails, and going on lots of little adventures along the way. We’ll also be sharing our walks and experiences on our blog so you can follow along with our journey.

Autism affects many families, and the support, awareness, and resources provided by autism charities make a huge difference. By taking on this challenge, we hope to raise funds while also celebrating the joy that being outdoors brings to my daughter.

If you’re able to donate, share our page, or simply follow along with our adventures, it would mean so much to us. Every bit of support helps.

Thank you for being part of our journey.
