I'm walking 10,000 steps a day for Autism Initiatives

Walk for Autism is a fundraising challenge run by Autism Initiatives Group. I am raising money for this charity to increase autism awareness and understanding, as well as access to early diagnosis for autistic individuals. This is vital to ensure that autistic individuals can access the support they need throughout education and in the workplace. As an autistic individual who got diagnosed at 15, it took me to have Emotionally Based School Avoidance and mental health struggles to receive a diagnosis of ASC. Autism should be diagnosed before an individual reaches crisis. 

I am now in sixth form doing A levels and although my autistic traits impact my day to day life, i have grown to develop coping mechanisms to manage throughout difficult days. I am now on the school council and a mental health ambassador. It is possible for life to get better with the reasonable adjustments that are required to meet your needs.
