Not long now
Friday 20th Mar So the 26th March is fast approaching and as much as the task at hand isn't so difficult, I feel its more about bringing awareness to Autism. Having a grandson who is Autistic has opened my eyes to the challenges that he faces daily, but also his family. If things are not right for him then it is so challenging and with him been non verbal you can see his frustration when he is not understood. Its heartbreaking at times when all you want is a giant hug and validation that he understands who you are and how much you love him. That been said he is a gorgeous boy and yes we would change his issues but not him. He does have a personality and he does have a life its just in his bubble. Autism is so much more common now and is starting to be more accepted. There is alot of ignorance out there and thinking "that's just a naughty kid" or that a person is just weird. Education about Autism isn't just for families and friends but anyone, so that you can understand when your out in the community and see someone with challenges or having a melt down or simply giggling and screeching, flapping arms etc this is just their daily life, not to ignore or stare or judge but to smile or empathise. The world is becoming more accepting and diverse but not quickly enough. There needs to be more and I need your help to raise important funds to make this happen. This is important to me, my family but more important to that little boy who is adored beyond words, who needs to be accepted in all walks of life, who needs places to go that he can enjoy safely and without judgement. He needs as normal a life as possible just like many of us who take so much in life for granted. Thankyou for reading, and its not about how much you donate but that you have supported a worthy important cause. If donating is out of reach at the moment then dont worry, that's not what its all about. Its about awareness and just maybe next time you see someone who's a little different you'll just accept it, accept them and talk about it with others to spread the word. Maybe in the future if there's a little spare cash you'll decide to donate then and it will still matter and be much appreciated.Thank you to my donors
