Why this walk means so much to me

Wednesday 1st Apr
💙 Why This Walk Means So Much to Me 💙
This isn’t just a walk for me… this is deeply personal.
I’m taking part in this charity walk for autism because it represents something incredibly close to my heart — my grandchildren.
I am a very proud nana to four beautiful grandchildren who are all autistic.
Each one of them is completely unique, with their own needs, their own ways of seeing the world, and their own incredible strengths. No two of them are the same — and that’s what makes them so special.
Being part of their lives has opened my eyes in ways I never imagined.
I’ve seen the challenges they face, the misunderstandings from others, and the extra support they need just to navigate a world that isn’t always built for them. But I’ve also seen their resilience, their honesty, their pure hearts, and the amazing little things that make them who they are.
Autism isn’t just something that affects them — it touches all of us as a family.
It teaches patience, understanding, strength, and above all, unconditional love.
This charity holds a very special place in my heart because it supports children like my grandchildren, and families like ours — families who love fiercely, advocate constantly, and celebrate every single milestone, no matter how big or small.
I’m doing this walk for them.
To raise awareness.
To show my support.
And to stand proud of every single one of them.
Because they are not defined by their challenges — they are defined by their individuality, their strength, and the joy they bring into this world.
So every step I take… I take with love, pride, and purpose.
💙
