Walk for Autism is a fundraising challenge run by Autism Initiatives Group. Autism Initiatives Group is working towards a world where every autistic person has the support they need to thrive, every opportunity to fulfil their potential and a supportive, inclusive community to live in.

Amazing George

Monday 23rd Feb
George was diagnosed with autism at three and had a significant speech delay. For a long time, we didn’t know if we would ever hear him speak. Then, at five years old, he said “Mummy” for the first time — a moment we will never forget. 
Today, the progress he has made is incredible. Since starting at a school with an outstanding resource provision tailored to his needs, George has flourished. He now communicates his needs clearly, manages his emotions much better, and has even begun learning to read.
We are truly blown away by how far he has come. The right support has made all the difference, and for the first time, we feel excited about what the future holds for him.
