Walk for Autism is a fundraising challenge run by Autism Initiatives Group. Autism Initiatives Group is working towards a world where every autistic person has the support they need to thrive, every opportunity to fulfil their potential and a supportive, inclusive community to live in.

The journey to diagnosis

Wednesday 11th Mar
The journey to autism diagnosis is indeed a long, difficult one. But there is nothing we will not do to advocate for our little ones. 
As a mother who spends every second with their son, you are the first to pick up on things — I had a gut feeling early on that Roman was unique. Certain behaviours, stims, masking and unfortunately terrible meltdowns later, we’re finally in the journey to diagnosis to get the support Roman needs. 
Roman is in year one and has been struggling at school, though the teachers and SENCO team are absolutely brilliant, it’s certainly been a hard time to navigate. 
He is obsessed with dinosaurs, minecraft and Jellycats! He always has a plushie on hand for a sensory cuddle.

Advocating for my best little friend any way possible. I’m doing this 100k steps to raise money for the charity and much appreciate any and all of your support <3
