I'm walking 10,000 steps a day for Autism Initiatives

Walk for Autism is a fundraising challenge run by Autism Initiatives Group. Autism Initiatives Group is working towards a world where every autistic person has the support they need to thrive, every opportunity to fulfil their potential and a supportive, inclusive community to live in.

I'll be walking 10,000 steps a day from 26th March to 2nd April to raise money for this fantastic charity. Please sponsor me.

Hi,
MARCH 30th to APRIL 6TH is Austim Awareness Week. 

I am raising money for this great cause by walking 80000 steps over 8 days - which many of you will know will be a challenge for me!

Alot of you will know the horrendous fight we have had getting a diagnosis and support for our youngest one Thomas. He was labelled as a typical naughty boy even though it was clear that he had significant additional needs. Turns out he has Impulsive ADHD and Autism. A new battle began- tge fight to get him an education. 2 years on he is still out of education, he has been turned down by 16 mainstream and specialised settings.
Thankfully due to stubborn parents he now has a placement in a wonderful specialised school starting in September.

My daughter has struggled finding her place the world due to her autism - but her knowledge of her hyperfixations is her super power - dont believe me ask her about the Egyptians! 

And too top it off I am also in the process of assessments!

Autism desperately needs to be understood from children at school all the way through to adults in the workplace.
