Tuesday 27th JanI’m doing this for my little love, Riley 💙
My beautiful boy is 5, non-verbal, autistic, and the bravest soul I know.
I’ve signed up for Walk for Autism not just to raise money, but to raise awareness, to hold myself accountable, and to be able to look back and say I did my bit. I want to know that I tried — for Riley, and for every family walking a similar path.
From 26th March to 2nd April, I’ll be pushing myself to walk 10,000 steps a day for 8 days. It won’t be easy (and if I lose a bit of chub along the way, even better 😅), but growth never is. This journey hasn’t been easy — it never has been — and autism can feel like a lonely and sometimes scary place full of unknowns. But I would not change my little roo for anything in the world.
If the money raised can help lighten the load for another family, give someone a bit of support, or make their road feel less heavy, I would do this a million times over. No question.
