I'm walking 20,000 steps a day for Autism Initiatives
Walk for Autism is a fundraising challenge organised by Autism Initiatives Group, a charity working towards a world where every autistic person has the support they need to thrive, the opportunity to reach their full potential, and a supportive, inclusive community to live in.
From 26th March to 2nd April, I will be walking 20,000 steps a day to raise money for this fantastic cause.
Autism affects a significant number of people. In the UK, around 1 in 100 people are autistic, which is more than 700,000 individuals, and when families are included, autism touches the lives of over 2.8 million people. Globally, it is estimated that around 1 in 100 children are on the autism spectrum. Many autistic people still face challenges in accessing the right support, education, and opportunities to live independently.
The funds raised through this challenge will help Autism Initiatives provide specialist support, education, and community services that enable autistic individuals to live more independent and fulfilling lives. More than 10 thousand people are participating in this charity initiative.
