Walk for Autism is a fundraising challenge run by Autism Initiatives Group. Autism Initiatives Group is working towards a world where every autistic person has the support they need to thrive, every opportunity to fulfil their potential and a supportive, inclusive community to live in.

Blog Post Message:
Over the past few years, my understanding of autism has grown in ways I never expected. The more I’ve learned, the more I’ve realised how differently people experience the world, and how often those differences are misunderstood. I can relate to certain traits myself, which has made that understanding feel even more personal, but this is bigger than me.

Learning more about autism has changed how I see things. It’s replaced assumptions with empathy and helped me recognise that there is still so much more awareness and support needed.

Autism affects people in many different ways, not only those who are autistic, but also families, friends, and the people who support them every day. Greater understanding benefits everyone.

This walk isn’t just about distance. It’s about standing for awareness, acceptance, and meaningful change. I’m walking to do my bit and to help contribute to a world that understands more and judges less.
