Walking for Autism awareness - walking for my son 💙

Saturday 28th Feb
This March, I’m walking 10,000 steps for autism.

But really… I’m walking for my little boy.

My son is 5. He is funny, sensitive, fiercely bright, and sees the world in ways that constantly amaze me. Right now, we’re navigating waiting lists and referrals for autism and PDA. The waiting can feel endless. The not knowing can feel heavy.

What people don’t always see are the daily battles.

Mainstream school, which should be a place of growth and safety, often leaves him overwhelmed and exhausted. It affects his mental wellbeing in ways that break my heart. Most days are a struggle. He cant mask his feelings, he shouldn’t have to. And as a parent, watching your child struggle in a world that doesn’t quite fit them is a kind of helplessness that’s hard to put into words.

We fight for support.
We explain.
We advocate.
We wait.

But when we step outside into nature, everything changes.

Outdoors, there are no expectations. No pressure. No noise that’s too loud or demands that feel too big. Just fresh air, open space, and freedom. It’s where he feels calm. Where he feels capable. Where he feels like himself.

So this challenge feels deeply personal.

10,000 steps in March.
Side by side.
For awareness.
For understanding.
For acceptance.

For a world that meets children like my son with compassion instead of judgment.

Every step is for him.
For his wellbeing.
For his future.
For every family walking a similar path.

If you’d like to support us, share, donate, or simply cheer us on, it would mean more than you know 💙

We’re walking with hope in our hearts — and love leading the way.
