Walking for Autism: For Jamesy, Willow, and Every Autistic Child

Tuesday 3rd Feb

In 2026, I will be taking part in Walk for Autism once again. I first completed this walk in 2024, where I was incredibly grateful to reach — and even exceed — my fundraising target. I’m returning this year because this cause is deeply personal to me, and because it matters more than ever.
I am walking for my children, Jamesy and Willow.
Every single day, I see the challenges they face — not just because they are autistic, but because the world is still not built to support them. Access to services is limited, support is stretched thin, and too often autistic children and their families are left feeling unseen and unheard.
I also walk as an autistic person myself.
I understand these struggles not just as a parent, but through lived experience. I know what it feels like to navigate a world that doesn’t always understand sensory overload, communication differences, emotional regulation, or the exhaustion that comes from simply trying to exist in spaces that aren’t designed for us.
Walk for Autism isn’t just a walk.
It’s about raising awareness.
It’s about understanding.
It’s about pushing for better support, acceptance, and resources for autistic people of all ages.
Every step I take is for Jamesy and Willow — for their future, their voices, and their right to be supported and understood. It’s also for every autistic child and adult who deserves more than what is currently available.
Thank you for taking the time to read our story, and for supporting this cause. Your support helps shine a light on autism and brings us one step closer to a more inclusive world.
