What autism means to me

Sunday 25th Jan

Autism isn’t just a word or a label to me — it’s my everyday life.

It affects how I experience the world, how I handle noise, change, emotions, and social situations. Some things that seem small to others can be overwhelming for me, and a lot of the effort I put in every day is completely invisible. Like many autistic people, I’ve spent a lot of time masking just to fit in, and that can be exhausting.

Autism also comes with strengths. I feel things deeply, I care a lot, and when something matters to me, it really matters. Autism is part of who I am — not something that needs fixing, but something that deserves understanding and support.

That’s why I’m raising money for this charity.

They support autistic people in real, practical ways — through awareness, resources, and advocacy — and they help create spaces where autistic people are accepted as they are. That kind of support can make a huge difference, especially in a world that isn’t always built with autistic people in mind.

If you’re able to donate or share this fundraiser, it genuinely helps. And if you’re autistic yourself and reading this — you’re not alone, and your experiences are valid.

Thank you for taking the time to read this and for supporting something that means a lot to me
