Walking for Georgia
Tuesday 17th FebThis year, I am walking for my daughter, Georgia.
Georgia is autistic. But more than that, she is funny, determined, bright, and beautifully herself. Autism is part of who she is, it shapes how she sees the world, how she communicates, how she experiences joy, and how she processes challenges. It does not define her limits, and it certainly doesn’t define her worth.
From the moment Georgia came into our lives, she has taught us things no book ever could — patience, perspective, resilience, and a deeper understanding of unconditional love. She experiences the world in her own unique way. Sometimes that means she notices details the rest of us miss. Sometimes it means she needs extra time, extra support, or extra understanding. And sometimes it means celebrating victories that others might overlook but that are huge milestones for us.
Autism brings challenges. There are days that feel overwhelming. There are moments of frustration, misunderstandings, or exhaustion. But there are also moments of incredible pride the breakthroughs, the small steps forward, the unexpected joys. Every achievement Georgia reaches is hard-earned and deeply meaningful.
I am walking for Georgia because every autistic child deserves understanding, acceptance, and support. Families deserve resources. Children deserve inclusive schools, compassionate communities, and a world that sees their strengths as much as their struggles.
Most of all, I am walking because I am proud. Proud of the courage Georgia shows every day. Proud of the progress she makes. Proud to be her parent.
Georgia has changed the way I see the world and she has made it better.
When I take each step in this walk, I will be thinking of her strength, her smile, and her future. I walk for awareness. I walk for acceptance. I walk for support. I walk for Georgia. 💙

I’m so proud of you for doing this for our daughter and autism Love you loads
